October update – Here we go!
So much has happened since my first blog – where to begin?
The school building.
Construction is on track. The site is swarming with workers – all frenzy bees working in tandem. The basement has been poured and work now begins on the ground floor. The admin offices and the teaching classrooms of Pre-K to Grade 1 are now easier to visualize – their imprints are taking shape. Tons of concrete and metal everywhere. I’m pretty sure the workers are glad the temperature has dropped somewhat. Even so, I’m melting in the moderated heat.
We now have our webpage up and running: northview.school. A lot of new features are being added all the time and a lot more information is to come. If anyone spots an error or needs more clarity about something, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll get back to you soon. Also, we have a Facebook page, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and even a YouTube Channel! Before long if I pull all these together, I’ll have the Northview book!
Bits and bobs.
We have decided on our student management system. It is being launched now so we can capture ‘expressions of interest’. We are looking at school uniforms, school furniture, planning the school calendar, getting basic, but important, school policies in place, finalizing our school ethos, mission, vision, and all the bits needed for our education license (and there are a lot of bits to get together).
So, yes, a lot has been done. But there is so much more to do and get done for next month. 10 months to go and counting! Hope you’re reading this and getting excited for the next great school about to open its doors for the first cohort next September. Will you be there? Sure hope so!
