Megan Carlyle serves as Head of Lower School at Northview International, bringing over 15 years of educational experience. With her deep passion for Early Years learning, Megan firmly believes that a strong academic foundation is essential for lifelong success. She holds an Honors Degree in Primary Education from the University of Glasgow and a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Portsmouth.
Beginning her teaching career in the UK, Megan later transitioned to the Middle East, where she expanded her leadership journey across Kindergarten through Grade 12. She has worked with various curricula throughout her career, including the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence, ADEK New School Model, American Common Core, High/Scope, International Baccalaureate, and Ministry of Education Standards. Most of her experience has been with the American curriculum, and she remains dedicated to creating an environment where all children can thrive and reach their full potential.
Megan’s educational philosophy centers on the holistic development of children. She believes each learner is unique and deserves a learning environment that nurtures their strengths and interests. She actively fosters a growth mindset, viewing challenges as opportunities for personal growth and development. Megan believes that teachers should equip students with the skills to think critically, collaborate effectively, and achieve success.
Through discovery and meaningful learning experiences, she ensures every student can explore, grow, and thrive. Megan’s vision for the Lower School at Northview focuses on academic excellence, emotional growth, and community engagement. She is committed to ensuring students feel safe, supported, and inspired while nurturing their resilience and sense of belonging alongside academic achievement.
