Elementary School Curriculum

Building Strong Foundations

Elementary School at Northview (Grades 1-5) is where students build on their Kindergarten foundation and begin taking ownership of their learning. The curriculum becomes more structured while remaining flexible, designed to encourage self-reliance, teamwork, and critical thinking.

Learning moves beyond memorizing facts. Students are taught to ask questions, research answers, and apply what they know to solve real-world challenges. Whether decoding texts in English, experimenting in science labs, or exploring mathematical patterns, they are constantly invited to think deeply and creatively.

Support Services

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

Students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 who need English language support receive targeted assistance to access the curriculum. EAL services help students build foundational language skills while participating in mainstream classes.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Support for mild to moderate learning needs is assessed on a case-by-case basis. Families must disclose documented needs during admission, as we can only accept students whose needs can be met within our resources. Classrooms in Pre-K through Grade 2 include a teacher’s assistant, providing additional support for younger learners.

Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs):

Available for students in Grades 1-5 on Monday-Wednesday afternoons, our CCA program offers enrichment in sports, arts, clubs, and community service. Students sign up at the beginning of each term and commit to their chosen activity for the full term.
