Our Middle School is guided by a clear set of values and development goals that shape how students learn, interact, and grow, building the character and skills they need to thrive beyond the classroom.
Middle School Values
Community and Values
Our Student Development Goals shape Middle School learning:
- Adaptability
- Ethics
- Communication
- Empathy
- Resilience
- Respect
- Collaboration
- Critical Thinking
These principles are integrated into our teaching and student interactions.
We implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and restorative practices to foster responsibility and respect. When conflicts occur, we guide students to understand the impact of their actions, repair harm, and learn from their experiences. This approach develops character and strengthens relationships.
Building Independence
Middle school helps students become self-directed learners. They manage multiple teachers and subjects, track assignments, seek help when needed, and make informed choices about their learning.
Students develop practical skills beyond the classroom, including organizing materials, planning projects, managing time, and reflecting on their progress. By the time they reach Grade 8, they are prepared for the rigor and independence of high school, having developed the skills to study effectively, collaborate, and think critically.
Small Classes, Personalized Attention
Class sizes: Maximum 25 students
Student-teacher ratio: Ensures every student is known, supported, and challenged
With small classes, teachers can know each student’s strengths, learning style, and areas for growth. Students aren’t lost in the crowd. Teachers can differentiate instruction, provide targeted feedback, and build the relationships that make middle school a positive experience.
